What is Invisalign
Invisalign is a discreet, near invisible teeth straightening system. It’s a comfortable and removable alternative to metal braces which often put many off having orthodontic treatment. Known as invisible orthodontics, Invisalign is incredibly popular with many of our patients benefiting from the clear aligners.
Invisalign uses a similar method of straightening as braces; however, instead of just one set of braces being attached to each individual tooth, Invisalign uses a series of aligners. Each aligner is worn for around two weeks each, gradually encouraging the teeth to move into a new position. You then move onto the next set of aligners which gently guide your teeth a little further. These gentle, gradual forces move your teeth - crown and root - improving their position in your mouth, your bite, and the general aesthetics of your smile as a straight smile is a beautiful smile.

What is the Invisalign process?
1. Free consultation
Every smile is unique. That’s why we offer free consultations so we can take a look at your smile and discuss your concerns about your teeth. We can then provide you with a much more accurate estimate for treatment length and give you a full quotation on the cost of your Invisalign treatment. A typical treatment plan will be anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.
2. Capturing 3D scans
We use our state-of-the-art Intraoral camera to capture 3D scans of your teeth. These digital impressions are then sent to Invisalign.
3. Virtual Treatment Plan
You visit the practice again for a 3-D visualisation of how your teeth will look after treatment. This visualisation is animated and you can actually see your teeth moving from their current location to their final straighter position. Once you're happy with your treatment plan, Invisalign can begin constructing your clear aligners. They will calculate how many clear Invisalign aligners you need and send them to us once they are ready.
4. Your aligners
Once we have your aligners, we’ll be in touch. We will check your first aligners with you, making sure that they are comfortable. We’ll talk you through each step of the treatment and arrange for a follow up appointment. During the months where your smile will be straightening, we’ll want to see you regularly to check on your progress.

5. Homecare
Once you’re free to go with your Invisalign aligners, most of the work is down to you. Your aligners need to be worn at least 20 hours a day for them to work. You’re free to take them out to eat or for any events where you’d rather be without them. Cleaning them is really straight-forward and you’ll need to clean your teeth after you eat before you put your aligners back on. This will make sure your teeth and gums stay as healthy as possible while the treatment proceeds. A healthy smile will have much more success with the treatment and you’ll not experience any complications from build-ups of bacteria.
6. Retaining your straight smile
Once you’re on your final aligner, we’ll need to see you to make your retainer. All orthodontic treatment needs a retainer to make sure your beautiful straight smile stays that way. We can retain your smile in two ways - either with a fixed wire at the back of your front teeth or with a removable clear retainer. We take scans of your straight smile and use these to make your removable retainer.
You’ll have to wear your retainer at night to stop your teeth from shifting out of position. It will take some time for your teeth to settle and you can then reduce how long you wear the retainer for. We always say that you’ll need to use your retainer for as long as you wish your teeth to stay straight for. As we age, our teeth naturally shift so your retainer will protect you from any teeth becoming crooked.

Why have Invisalign?
Invisible
Because Invisalign is made of a clear plastic it is virtually undetectable whilst being worn. The aligners are crafted precisely so they fit flush over the teeth, leaving no visible signs that they are there at all. Unless you tell people that you have invisalign, no one will be able to tell that you are having orthodontic treatment.
Comfortable
Invisalign aligners are designed to be as comfortable as possible. Accurately made using digital scans of your mouth, they fit perfectly in place while they work on straightening your teeth.
Removable
There is no need to change your eating habits with Invisalign. You can remove your aligners before you eat, making it much easier to look after your teeth than with fixed braces.
Easy to maintain
Looking after your aligners during the treatment is straightforward. You can clean them easily with a soft-bristled toothbrush or use cleaning crystals to keep the aligners free of bacteria.

FAQs & Common Questions
Below are some of the most common questions we receive from patients considering their dental treatment. If you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten teeth. These aligners are custom-made for each patient and are virtually invisible when worn.
Straightening your teeth not only boosts your confidence but also improves bite alignment, supports better oral health by making teeth easier to clean, helps prevent gum disease, and provides lasting benefits for your overall dental wellbeing.
Invisalign works by using a series of customised aligners that gradually move your teeth into the desired position. Each set of aligners is worn for about two weeks, and patients switch to a new set until the treatment is complete.
One of the main advantages of Invisalign is that the aligners are clear and virtually invisible. Most people won't even notice that you are wearing them.
The duration of Invisalign treatment varies depending on the complexity of the case. On average, treatment can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.
If you damage your aligners or lose them, you can go back to the previous set. Contact us right away and we can arrange to replace the aligners. As you’ll already have the last set of aligners on hand, your teeth won’t move out of position as long as you are wearing aligners.
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are removable, so you can eat and drink without any restrictions. However, it's important to remove them before eating and drinking anything other than water. We also recommend that you clean your teeth before returning your aligners so that you don’t have bacteria developing in any sugary deposits while you are wearing your aligners.
For the best results, it's recommended to wear the Invisalign aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day. They should only be removed for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. However, you can take them out if you need to have a picture taken or for any important events where you may be self-conscious about them - such as a job interview.
Most patients experience some discomfort or pressure when they switch to a new set of aligners. If you do experience aches, you can take paracetamol to alleviate any discomfort.
It's important to clean your Invisalign aligners regularly. You can use cleaning crystals or simply brush them gently with a toothbrush and rinse them in lukewarm water.
Yes, after completing the Invisalign treatment, we’ll arrange for a retainer to be made to make sure your teeth remain straight. The type and duration of retainer wear will depend on your individual case.
Yes! We have fantastic 0% interest finance options that spread your treatment frees across monthly installments.
We offer Invisalign from £1950 however because each treatment plan depends on how many aligners you will need to achieve the end result, the costs vary from person to person. That’s why we offer free consultations so you can receive an accurate, bespoke quotation for your Invisalign treatment.
